A
School was established 125 years ago in 1890 at Kurchipalla, near Hanafi Jamia Masjid Uppala by Hanafi Jama-ath Uppala
in the interest to educate the local pupils. In 1920, then Madras
Govt. recognised it as a elementary school with URDU
medium comprising of I to V classes.Later, Kannada
medium classes were started.
In
1956 when Kerala state was formed, the Govt. also approved it and upgraded
the school to upper primary by adding two standards up to VII.The school
was handed over to Kerala govt in 1968.The govt. named the school as
GOVERNMENT HINDUSTHANI U.P. SCHOOL KURCHIPALLA. After some years Malayalam medium also started.
The
Govt. transferred one acre land to the education department and
constructed new building at Mannamguli in 1984. The building is 40.2x10.7m in dimension with upstairs, comprising 15 rooms in total. The inauguration was done by Jb.
Avukhadar Kutty Naha,the deputy chief minister of Kerala. The upper
primary section with L.P Malayalam was shifted to the new campus. L.P Kannada
was functioning at the old campus.
The
Hanafi Jama-ath purchased one acre land attached to new campus at Mannamguli and constructed a tiled building measuring
25m
x 6.5m and handed it over to the school.Jb.Cherkalam Abdulla MLA inaugurated the building in 1994. Since then the Kannada L.P section
also functions at Mannamguli. A class room was
constructed under DPEP in 1998. In between, an additional one acre land
attached to the school was also transferred by the revenue department to
the educational department for the school purpose. The
school has three acres of land now.
The
school is the only one teaching URDU as
first language from first standard
in Kerala.SSA also granted two class rooms and we now have 12 class rooms in good condition. Mangalpady grama panchayath has sanctioned amount to reconstruct stage,toilet and urinals.
